Raised in Fayette County, Pastor Paula Napier grew up in the Methodist Church in Ansted, WV. As a youth she was active at St.
Paul's UMC. Paula enjoys singing and has sung in many choirs and was active in the UM Women at Beverly Hills UMC, Huntington,
WV. After relocating to Chapmanville, WV she attended Nighbert Memorial UMC in Logan, WV where she taught children sermons, became a lay speaker and participated in an Emmaus Walk which changed her life. She received her calling into ministry while serving on a Kairos Team at Lakin Correctional Facility for Women. Paula received her bachelor's degree from WV Tech in secondary education and a master's degree from Marshall University in English. Following retirement as a public school teacher, she attended Methodist Theological School in Ohio receiving her Master of Divinity in 2016. Before her appointment as a Provisional Elder to New Haven UMC, she served 3 years at Canaan UMC in Charleston, WV. Currently, she is completing requirements for ordination approval as a Full Elder in June 2020. Paula is married to her husband, Greg, who works for Premier Bank Holding Company. She is the mother of two children, the late Lincoln Nutter and daughter, Jesse (Jason) Nutter Boner who resides in Durham, North Carolina. Paula has one grandson, Elijah Cameron Nutter who resides in Leonardtown, Maryland.

Having lived in New Haven all his life, Bobby Joe has been part of the New Haven United Methodist Church since he was a young child. He worked 6 years with AEP Sporn and retired from Century Aluminum as a maintenance supervisor following 33 years of combined service with Kaiser, Ravenswood and Century Aluminum plants. He currently serves on the administrative council and is chairperson of the trustees committee. He is married to Charlotte Roush and they have a blended family of 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Bob is a WVU and Steelers’ football fan and loves to play golf in his spare time.

Charlotte has been a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church since 1971. She currently is chairperson of the pastor-parish relations committee, secretary to the administrative council, member of the evangelism and communication committees and treasurer for the NHUM Women. She has served as a lay and equalization member to the WV Annual Conference and is currently a member of the WVUM Conference Equitable Compensation team. She retired as a human resource rep. from AEP River Operations following 40 years of service. Judy Scites joined New Haven UMC by letter of transfer from Clifton UMC shortly after Joe and she were married in 1972. Judy has served on various committees, taught Seekers SS class, Jr. Church, and Joy. She played in the bell choir and is serving as a pianist for the second time.
Judy taught elementary school for 31 years in first, second, third grades and Title One.
Judy and Joe have two sons, Dean and Austin, and one granddaughter Vivian.

Mary Thompson
Mary happily gave her services to the Church by serving on the PPRC, as Membership Secretary and Win One Class Teacher. Due to illness, Mary retired from her position as Social Worker at Lakin State Hospital in 2015. She was always happy to take on tasks in God’s service. Her education record included attending WVU-P and graduating from Marshall University in 2001. She was employed by Mason County Board of Education as Parent Coordinator of the Parent Educator Resource Center assisting students and families of Special Needs Students 1990 to 2000. She worked as a Case Manager at Mason County Shelter serving the homeless community 2000 to 2005. She began working for the State of WV at WV DHHR- Mason County as Adult Service Worker (Social Worker) and in 2010 she transferred to Lakin State Hospital in a Social Work position. She held leadership positions with Special Olympics, Girl Scouts and 4H. Mary lost her battle to cancer in October 2019, but is resting in the arms of her Savior. Her faith in God was inspiring and continued to grow through her illness. Mary is the daughter of the late Harold and Naomi Bumgarner. She has 3 daughters Amy, Amber and Amanda Thompson and is grandmother to Marly Thompson, all of Point Pleasant.

Marie is retired and enjoys camping. Her beloved husband went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2018. Marie has 1 son and 3 grandsons.
